Our Banana Story

Dried Apple Bananas from the Big Island of Hawaii

An adventure in great taste

Wailani Farm is located on the Big Island of Hawaii, about 15 miles north of Hilo. Our small farmstead is situated at 1300′ elevation on the flanks of Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain on the island. Here, the rich volcanic soils, warmed by the tropical sun and nourished by more than 200 inches of rain per year provide an optimal climate for cultivating Hawaiian Apple Bananas.

The Apple Banana Difference

Grown and loved throughout the Hawaiian Islands, the Apple Banana has a richer and more complex taste profile than the bland hybridized varieties sold in grocery stores everywhere.

These native fruits have golden-yellow flesh, a firm texture, and a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. Small in size, but big in flavor! They’re simply delicious, and the dehydrating process concentrates it even more!

Our Dried Hawaiian Apple Bananas are soft and chewy strips of 100% banana – completly different from the sweetened banana chips marketed commercially.

The Peak of Flavor

We harvest our bananas when they are mature, and let them ripen naturally. No ethelyne gas used and never any added sweeteners or preservatives.

At the very peak of flavor, we peel, slice and dehydrate them in small batches to ensure quality. Finally, they’re sealed in mylar bags to preserve freshness.

Folks around here who are used to eating these bananas have told us that our Dried Hawaiian Apple Bananas are the best they’ve ever tasted.

You’ll just have to try them for yourself, and let us know how you like them.

Naturally Nutritious

Wailani Farm Dried Hawaiian Apple Bananas are the ideal healthy snack, and you can take them anywhere (without refrigeration).

Packed with nutrition, they’re rich in potassium and fiber, and provide a variety of vitamins and minerals. In addition, they are naturally free of fat, cholesterol and sodium.

We genuinely hope you enjoy this Taste of Aloha. Share these treats with your family and friends!
